Adam Levine was pictured with a major hair change this week.
On the photos obtained by People, the Maroon 5 frontman rocked bright blue hair as he walked around California on Monday wearing white shorts and running shoes the same color as his locks.
In addition to his new hair color, Levine also recently added a new tattoo to his collection.
The singer took Instagram Monday to share a photo of his new ink, which showed a butterfly landing on a spider web. The design was inked in the center of her neck, just above her “Family” tattoo.
“Should,” Levine wrote in his Instagram story, next to images of the new tattoo.
On his main page, he captioned a photo of the ink: “A wise man once said… ‘when Instagram goes down… get your throat tattooed…’ his name was @nathan_kostechko.”
Vanessa Bryant commented on her post with “Love”, complete with a butterfly emoji. Her late husband Kobe Bryant had a butterfly crown tattoo on his arm that was above his name.
“I’m so angry you didn’t text me first, but I love it !!” wrote the blackbear singer.
“Only the best !!” commented AJ Rompza. “Very cool!” wrote tattoo artist Sasha Masiuk.
Tattoo artist Nathan Kostechko, who is also responsible for Levine’s Immaculate Heart tattoo on the side of his neck, posted Levine’s photo on his own Instagram account. The photo showed the new ink as well as the singer’s blue hairstyle.
“@adamlevine really went for this one”, Kostechko wrote in the legend.
The artist received praise for his latest work, with a fan writing, “Super cool one Nathan”.
“I almost hate that someone so famous has such great tattoos,” another joked.
Levine has a passion for tattoos. He has over two full sleeves on his arms and over a dozen other designs inked on his body including tattoos of an eagle, flower and necklace, a tiger, shark and dove.
The singer also had an intricate Japanese-inspired design inked on his right leg by tattoo artist Bill Canales in August. Levine shared a time-lapse video of the entire 13-hour process on Instagram.
Levine opened up about his tattoos when he graced the cover of People as magazine’s “sexiest man in the world” for 2013. He shared that he received his first ink, a dove, at the age of 21, just days after 9/11. According to him, he felt the need to “say something with this peaceful thing on my body”.
“Tattoos end up being this strange roadmap or story over the years. They always remind me of that long, strange and awesome journey that life has been,” he explained.
