Popstar Billie Eilish recently collaborated with shoe company Nike for vegan Air Jordans.
Without a doubt, and almost without competition, Nike is the the largest shoe manufacturer in the world. As of this year, the nearly sixty-year-old company is valued at $ 30.44 billion. While the innovative designs of their kicks certainly have a thing or two to do with their huge global success, it’s Nike celebrity supporters that seem to put them on the edge.
From The Rock to Kevin Hart, from Steph Curry to (of course) Lebron James, Nike’s trademark for making its billions of dollars is slapping a celebrity name on its latest designs. Although of all the signature shoes you can get from Footlocker, their lasting collaboration with the pop feel Billie Eilish perhaps one of the most innovative to date!
The main selling point of these new designs, aside from being endorsed by one of the world’s greatest artists, is that they are 100% vegan! Nike has taken the most eco-friendly route by organizing these new Eilish shoes using over 20% of recycled materials. Best of all, they’re made from 100% vegan leather, unlike the more harmful materials used in other high-end shoes. The designs are based on two of Nike’s best-selling styles: the Air Jordan 1 KO and the Air Jordan 15. They are available in lime green and taupe, respectively.
“I really wanted to have it, almost like an ode to myself in an appreciative way and a sort of sentimental way, like it’s me for a while,” the singer boasted enthusiastically in a Nike promotional video.
The design is certainly a ‘ode to herself‘as its signature logo is displayed on the tongue of the shoe. This is another Nike initiative aimed at providing more durable and economical products to its loyal customers forever. Last year, they launched their “Move to Zero” program with the mission of drastically reducing their carbon emissions and waste in production, as well as encouraging their production. competition to follow in their footsteps.
