One of the biggest debates in basketball circles for quite some time now is LeBron James vs. Michael Jordan. MJ was arguably the greatest player in the league in his day. This has led to many comparisons with players like Kobe Bryant.

However, LeBron is the player most associated with Jordan. Since his highly anticipated league debut, James has faced comparisons to MJ that are quite unfair at times.

Interestingly enough, while James may not have the number of titles that Jordan has, he has already passed MJ in one aspect. It’s the salary. Although he is one of the best players, Jordan has never had an unusually high salary.

On the other hand, LeBron is the highest paid player in the NBA since signing a new contract with the Lakers. Recently, LeBron’s camp and the Los Angeles Lakers agreed to a 2-year extension worth approximately $97.1 million. The new contract takes his career earnings to $532 million and he overtakes Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant to become the highest earner of all time.

Meanwhile, Jordan’s career earnings in the NBA are less than what LeBron will earn from his new contract! The Chicago Bulls legend has earned an estimated $86 million during his phenomenal time in the league. (Source: hoopshype.com)
