THE BOARD
• Saint Joseph’s crowns its opening season with four home games this Saturday as it hosts Monmouth at noon.
• The Hawks and Monmouth are the opener of a doubles schedule on Saturday, with the Saint Joseph women’s team hosting Villanova at 3 pm.
• St. Joe’s is looking to bounce back after dropping a thriller against Drexel, 78-75, Wednesday.
Jordan Room finished with a high 20 points, seven rebounds and six assists against the Dragons.
taylor funk continued his strong offensive start to the season as he rose to 6 of 12 from the floor, 3 of 5 from three points and 3 of 3 from the foul line for 18 points.
• Beginner Erik Reynolds II finished in double digits for the second game in a row, scoring 13 points against Drexel.
• Funk will enter fourth nationally on Saturday for three points per game (4.33) and 38th for three-point percentage (0.565).
• Hall currently ranks 14th nationally in assists per game at 6.3 per game.
• The Hawks have averaged 31.0 points in the paint over the past two games.

SAINT JOSEPH AGAINST MONMOUTH
Despite less than 85 miles between the two campuses, Saint Joseph’s and Monmouth meet for the third time in their history on Saturday as the two teams enter the competition tied 1-1 in the all-time series.
• In the last game, Charlie Brown, Jr. scored 19 of his game-high 21 points in the second half as Saint Joseph’s moved away from Monmouth, 78-63, at Hagan Arena for his second victory of the 2018-19 season.
• Monmouth dominated Saint Joseph’s in the Wyoming Cowboy Shootout fourth-place game, 71-62, on November 28, 1994.

FANSGIVING FOOD DRIVE
Saint Joseph’s partners with Philabundance for a Fansgiving food drive during Saturday’s double program. Fans who donate non-perishable food items will be entered to win two tickets to the Hawks vs. Temple home contest on Saturday, December 11 at 1 p.m. ET. The winner will be announced at halftime of the SJU Women’s Match on Saturday and must be present to collect their prize.

STUDENT BASKETBALL BARBECUE SATURDAY
Hawk Hill Productions and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee are sponsoring the Saturday Student Basketball BBQ. All Saint Joseph students are welcome to enjoy free food, games and more before the game. Free t-shirts will be available while supplies last and students will have the opportunity to enter to win exclusive prizes. Prizes will be announced at halftime of Saturday’s women’s basketball game.

DEPTH CONNECTION
Saint Joseph’s opened the season with strong performances from distance as he began averaging 8.7 three-pointers per game on Saturday. In three games, the Hawks have connected twice on double-digit three-pointers and are 26 of 68 overall behind the arc.

HAWKS INK WINBORNE AND FLEMING
Head Coach of Saint-Joseph Billy Lange custody announced Christian winborne (Baltimore, Md./Gilman School) and onwards Rasheer Flemish (Camden, NJ / Camden) have signed a national letter of intent to attend Saint Joseph’s University in the fall of 2022. A 6-foot-2 guard, Winborne has just had a tremendous junior season at Gilman School in during which he averaged 22.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game. The highest ranked playmaker in Maryland and the 35th ranked playmaker nationally by 247 Sports, Winborne also competed for Will Barton’s Thrill team on the UAA Tour. As well as being an outstanding student-athlete on the court, Winborne has excelled in the classroom as the student on the Honor Roll has a GPA of 4.0. A 6-foot-9 forward, Fleming is entering his final year with nationally-ranked Camden High School averaging 9.5 points and 8.3 rebounds per game in 67 career competitions. In sophomore, Fleming averaged 13.7 points and 10.9 rebounds per game, before playing a season shortened by COVID last year. In addition, he participated in the prestigious Nike EYBL circuit with the New Jersey Scholars.

FOLLOWING
The Hawks are heading west as they participate in the Paycom Wooden Legacy over the Thanksgiving vacation. Saint Joseph’s opens the tournament against the # 25 USC Thursday night at 9:30 p.m. ET, and will face either Georgetown or San Diego State on Friday.
