Frank Vogel linked to Utah head coaching job
Former LA Lakers head coach Frank Vogel has been linked to the Utah Jazz head coaching job. The Jazz were surprised by the sudden resignation of Quin Snyder.
They are considering the former Lakers head coach as Snyder’s successor, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. woj said:
“There are two other candidates slated to interview for the Utah coaching job, sources told ESPN: Frank Vogel and jazz assistant Lamar Skeeter.”
The LA Lakers left Vogel fairly quickly by bringing in Darvin Ham as a replacement. The Jazz are looking to build a roster of championship contenders, and Vogel has a championship pedigree, having coached the Lakers to the title in 2020.
Tracy McGrady thanks Kobe Bryant for his contract with Adidas
Former NBA superstar Tracy McGrady has thanked the late great Kobe Bryant for turning down a deal with Adidas. As a result, McGrady received an even more generous deal from shoemakers. McGrady said:
“Kobe was about to sign a $200 million contract with Adidas. Who was next? I was like, Kob, thank you bro. I’m glad you turned down that $200 million because you left me $100 million, bro.”
The LA Lakers superstar bought out his contract with Adidas for $8 million. He was unhappy with one of the latest shoes at the time. This led to the company desperately needing to land McGrady and ended up with a lifetime contract.
O’Shea Jackson defends Anthony Davis and attacks Kawhi Leonard
O’Shea Jackson, the son of Hollywood legend Ice Cube, has come to the defense of LA Lakers superstar Anthony Davis. He also made a cheeky comment about LA Clippers superstar Kawhi Leonard.
Appearing on The Rich Eisen Show, Jackson said:
“I don’t understand why this is happening to Anthony Davis. It’s so unlucky, but he’s played more games than Kawhi.”
O’Shea was then involved in a heated discussion with TJ Jefferson. He downplayed the championship Kawhi won with the San Antonio Spurs in 2014 and awarded that ring to Gregg Popovich.
