Aubrey “Drake” Graham recently made headlines about his collaborative album with 21 Savage, Her Loss. On the sneaker side, the Canadian megastar has been seeding pairs of his “Certified Lover Boy”-inspired Nike Air Force 1s, with a new NOCTA collection soon to join the mix.
Headlined by an all-purple pair of Hot Step Air Terra, the NOCTA x Nike collection prepared for Holiday ’22 includes a number of clothing items that Drake and his team have prepared to form a “street uniform for all generations”, as noted on Instagram post which officially unveiled the upcoming items. Two-tone nylon tracksuits complete the October’s Very Own frontman’s upcoming Air Max cushioned sneaker, while a seemingly all-white waterproof parka offers protection and warmth for whatever activity takes place during those “scary hours.” An all-red version of the NOCTA Puffer Jacket was also teased in the first set of shared images of the upcoming Cardinal Stock pick (NOCTA Cardinal Stock is, according to the Swoosh, “a curated version by NOCTA offering some of the most recognizable and silhouettes uniforms in additional colors).
While specific references to locations and characters captured in the latest campaign footage were not made, the team behind the campaign did travel to New York. The streets of Harlem and the Bronx are visible throughout the campaign – which is said to have a video complement – featuring a number of young residents who refer to themselves as “The Goated Ones”. Edot Baby, a rapper known from the budding Harlem Drill music scene, is also featured in the latest NOCTA x Nike campaign, although the New York native took his own life on Nov. 4. One of the artist’s most popular songs was “Ready 4 War,” which helped him and Harlem’s “Sugar Hill” section on digging fans’ radars in early 2020.
No firm Nike.com launch date has been disclosed by the parties involved, but that should change soon. In the meantime, enjoy campaign images from the upcoming NOCTA x Nike collection.
