Come Tees x Converse create a collection of spray-painted clothing and footwear
Sonya Sombreuil’s emerging streetwear label is known for its hand-drawn illustrations and graphic-printed clothing. The label is now entering the mainstream market with its latest partnership.
Earlier in February this year, the duo launched their first joint venture which included t-shirts, chinos, hoodies, shoes and more. For the latest fall collection, the duo have once again created an exclusive clothing and footwear collection. Similar to the previous launch, the new line will also feature a revamped Chuck Taylor 70 silhouette, alongside One Star.
The description of the collaboration on Nike’s SNKRS app reads:
“With its hand-drawn characters and ecstatic, expressive detailing, Come Tees has established itself as an inspired voice in streetwear, using fashion as a repository of memory, desire and self-discovery.”
1) Come Tees x Chuck Taylor 70 Orange
Come Tees adds its distinct graphic style and vibrant colors to the two aforementioned shoe designs. Most of Chuck Taylor’s uppers feature bright orange canvas, while the traditional metal eyelets as well as a white rubber toe cap remain intact.
Stepping back to the lateral side, the usual Converse star branding is replaced with a celestial-like symbol that has a black and blue color scheme, along with metallic divots around its border.
The words “Come Tees” and “Star Path” are printed in black on the collar area of the sneaker. The streetwear label has also added branding to the left sole label.
The Converse star emblem reappears on the medial side, this time with the word “Star” inscribed in a whimsical font. The pair is completed with a Black rubber outsole with a White flame emblem along with a White vulcanized midsole which completes the look.
The Come Tees x Converse Chuck 70 shoes are priced at $115 for each pair.
2) Come Tees x Converse One Star
Similar design cues from the Chuck Taylor 70 are carried over to this low-top variant, but with a slightly modified color scheme. The majority of the upper is crafted from premium black suede. The midfoot area sees the cutout star emblem. The midfoot is orange like Chuck Taylor and covered with metallic divots on the lateral and medial sides.
The insole takes on a more uniform shade of each shade that’s spread across the entire pair, but the insole has a tie-dye effect with flecks of green and orange throughout.
Additionally, co-branded elements can be seen on the insole, with heel branding mimicking Chuck Taylor style. The look is completed with a Black rubber outsole which is painted with an Orange flame pattern.
The Come Tees x Converse One Star Black shoes are priced at $105 for each pair.
3) Clothing items offered as part of the collab collection
The collection features a variety of garments, including fleece crewneck sweaters and sweatpants, as well as a t-shirt and overalls. A mix of bright colors that look like spray paint add a more artisanal touch to these garments.
The logos of the two labels, Converse and Come Tees, are placed on the front and back of the garments respectively.
Fleece Crewneck Sweatshirts are priced at $100, while Star Tees will be available for $60. The wide-leg fleece pants and overalls will retail for $90 and $140, respectively.
Mark your calendars for the upcoming Come Tees x Converse collection launching October 20th. Shop them on Nike’s SNKRS app as well as a few other in-store and online retailers.
